Last night I went to my first SXSW party at GSD&M hosted by Whole Foods Market and an company called Forkly. Here is the link to last night's menu :

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but I wasn't familiar with this Forkly thing. How, I have no idea. This is so my kind of thing.

Like a Pandora for food, this app finds you new places based on your preferences and ratings of specific dishes. It reviews the food you like, not the restaurant. This is genius! It is a great way to get you out of your comfort zone and try out new places.

You can take pictures of what you are eating or would like to try -- putting all that foodstagramming to practical use. You can check into a restaurant where their menu items will show up in the app. Click on your fave dish, rate it, share it, save it-- it'll be added to your "tastes," that will contribute to the app's suggestions for you. By understanding your likes and dislikes, Forkly helps you discover new places and will show you what’s good once you’re there. Oh yeah, and it's free.

I went on it today and searched "paleo," but there wasn't much there yet. I am going to paleo the shit out of this app. Get ready, Forkly.

  1. Hey I didn't see you last night! I was chatting with a bunch of us AFBAers and Babette Pepaj @Bakespace. With all these apps I'm thinking I need a new phone that can support them, one of these days it will happen.

  2. Glad to have met you last night, and love that you had a great time! See you soon I hope :)
