The number one complaint I get about the Paleo diet is: "I don't have time for paleo." Number two: "I can't find Paleo food on-the-go." Well, friends, here's your answer:
Snap kitchen is the place to go when looking for fast, pre-made Paleo meals and snacks in Austin and Houston. Their mission is to offer the freshest, healthiest real food in a convenient, portion controlled package. Their ingredients are local and seasonal and their meals are made fresh daily.

They don't just offer PALEO MENU options, you can find healthy food in every category from gluten-free to vegetarian. Click here for the Full Menu.
My favorite was definitely the beet hummus. It was delightfully garlicky, slightly spicy and look at that color! Beautiful.
My husband liked the Roasted Vegetable Quiche with a savory almond crust and my son likes both the chimichurri salmon and almond chicken! The "Caveman Quickies," or paleo trail mix, are great for snacking. I'll definitely pick some of those up before my next road trip.

And now, the giveaway: The sweethearts over at Snap Kitchen have offered to give a $50 gift card to one of our readers if we have 10-24 comments on this post. They will give $100 if I get over 25 comments below. The more the better! Here is how you enter: Post a comment below including your favorite menu item at Snap Kitchen. If you have never been to Snap, I encourage you to check out their website and leave your comment on something you would like to try, instead. ReplyDeleteThe bison quinoa hash is AMAZING. Is quinoa paleo? I also like their snack baggies :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how I feel about beets but I will have to try that hummus.
No Mel, Quinoa is not paleo. It is a grain, which is a paleo no-no.
DeleteHahah, oh well. I'm obsessed with quiche and I'm assuming a palo one would also be gf so I would be down to try that :)
DeleteQuinoa is actually not a grain. It's a pseudocereal and is not in the grass family like regular grains. The part of quinoa that is eaten is the seed, and it's actually most closely related to beets and spinach. Whether or not you consider it paleo depends on your definition of paleo, but those are the facts:)
DeleteYou are right. It is a seed. I always forget that because quinoa looks like a grain, tastes like a grain but most importantly, acts like a grain. It contains antinutrients that bind to the vitamins and minerals your body needs. It steals them and they are unable to be absorbed in your body. =( It also contains antinutrients that contribute to intestinal permeability, which can wreck havoc on your immune system. It may be a seed, but it has the negative characteristics of a grain, which means it is off limits for me. Thanks for your input.
DeleteThose nuts sure were tasty.
ReplyDeleteEverything is delish, but I'm especially obsessed with the Bison Quinoa Hash. Gimme!
